Kenya Highlights

Day 1 - Depart U.S.A. Your adventure begins today as you board your flight to Amsterdam on KLM/Northwest airlines.

Day 2 - Amsterdam/Nairobi, Kenya Arrive in Amsterdam early this morning from your home city. Connect on your KLM flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Upon Arrival there will be a local representative to meet you and provide a transfer to the hotel for check-in & overnight. Nairobi Serena Hotel

Day 3 - Nairobi After a safari briefing, proceed on a full day of sightseeing. You will visit many exciting locations including the Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Foundation and it's baby rhinos and elephants. The Karen Blixen Museum of "Out of Africa" fame at the foot of the Ngong Hills is a wonderful bit of history and culture not to be missed. You will also visit Giraffe Manor where you will have the opportunity to hand feed the giraffe's. Nairobi Serena Hotel (BL)

Day 4 - Aberdares/Tree Hotel This morning you will be met by a Born Free representative and you will head out on safari. By lunch you will arrive at the Aberdare Country Club. After lunch you will journey on to the Ark by bus. Enjoy the comforts of this unique lodge as the animals are drawn by the presence of salt lick and a flood lit water hole. After dinner you may watch them at close proximity as they are dramatically illuminated against the dark night. You can have a buzzer alert you during the night of the animals that visit whilst you sleep. The Ark (BLD)

Day 5 - Samburu / Shaba Game Reserve After breakfast you will be transferred back to the Aberdare Country Club to regroup and then proceed to Samburu. Enjoy afternoon game viewing in this Reserve which is noted for several species of animals not found in the southern parks. Your driver will be scouting for the Reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, 'Somali' ostrich, Beisa oryx, the graceful long-neck gerenuk and many more exciting animals. Samburu Shaba Lodge (BLD)

Day 6 - Samburu / Shaba Game Reserve A full day awaits you of game viewing. You have the opportunity to see a wide range of animals here. Leopards frequent the river areas and there are hippos and crocodile to see as well. Samburu Shaba Lodge (BLD)

Day 7 - Lake Nakuru After breakfast you will proceed to Lake Nakuru, the ornithologist's dream come true. This magical lake is home to sometimes over a million pink guests - the greater and lesser flamingos - as well as nearly 500 other species of bird. Primarily a bird sanctuary, the 202 sq. km. park is also a black rhino sanctuary. Reed buck, hippo, leopard, waterbuck and giraffe can also be seen here. This park boasts the greatest concentration of leopard in Kenya. Lion Hill Lodge (BLD)

Day 8 - Masai Mara Game Reserve After breakfast you will be on your way to the world famous Masai Mara. Arrive at the permanent deluxe tented camp in time for lunch. Each deluxe tent has it's own ensuite bathroom with running hot and cold water. The Masai Reserve is one of the world's greatest wildlife habitats featuring giraffe, ostrich, waterbuck, bushbuck, countless gazelles and antelopes, zebra, wildebeest and over 400 species of bird. This is also home to the famous "Big Five": lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. This afternoon you will be taken on a game drive. Mara Sarova Camp (BLD)

Day 9-10 - Masai Mara Game Reserve The high altitude and humid conditions created by being located within the Lake Victoria district result in a temperate climate that is ideal for game country. The gently rolling landscape of the Mara is predominantly made up of savannah grasslands intersected with areas of dense acacia woodlands. On your morning and afternoon game drives you may see a wide variety of species. Mara Sarova Camp (BLD)

Day 11 - Mara/Nairobi/Depart After a hearty breakfast, you will be escorted to the airstrip for the scheduled charter flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel where you will have a day room. This evening you will be transferred to the airport in time to check in for your KLM flight to Amsterdam. Day 12 - Amsterdam/U.S.A.(Home) Arrive in Amsterdam this morning and connect on you KLM/Northwest flight back to the U.S.A. or wherever home may be.

Day 1 - Departure
Board your flight from your nearest gateway city.

Day 2 - Amsterdam / Arusha , Tanzania
Upon arrival in Arusha , Tanzania you will be met by a APSG Safaris representative and transferred to your lodge.

Day 3 - Tarangire National Park
Begin your safari this morning as you head through the Tanzania countryside to Tarangire, the quintessence of Old Africa. Tarangire not only has excellent big game but also features over 300 bird species! The intriguing atmosphere seems prehistoric with ancient baobab trees, scrub bush and outlines of strangely horned antelopes and tall giraffe.

Day 4-5 - Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy a morning game drive and then after breakfast proceed through the Ngorongoro Highlands to your lodge on the rim of the crater. On the following day, you'll descend 2,000 feet on to the Crater floor for a full day game viewing in the area. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkey and elephant, the lake area, where you may see the beautiful flamingos, and the open savannah where the majestic lion hunts for food. Your stay here is sure to be one of the highlights of your safari adventure.

Day 6-7 - Olduvai Gorge / Serengeti National Park
This morning continue on to the Olduvai Gorge , stopping to visit this archaeological site made famous by the discoveries of the Leakey family. Arrive in Serengeti National Park in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. The Serengeti terrain consists of grasslands, savannah and rock outcroppings and is one of the greatest wildlife habitats in the world. Spend two days exploring the vast Serengeti.

Day 8 - Lake Manyara National Park
On through the lush countryside to Lake Manyara in the foothills of the Great Rift Valley Wall. Manyara consists of five different habitation zones: lakes, forests, marsh, grass and scrub land. Inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, flamingos, other incredible bird life and tree-climbing lions.

KENYA

Day 9 - Nairobi
Transfer to Arusha where you will then transfer over the border to Nairobi , Kenya . Transfer to your lodge and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 10-12 - Masai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast, board your flight over the Great Rift Valley to the splendid Masai Mara Reserve. Spend three days game viewing in this northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem. Morning and afternoon game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles. A highlight of your stay will be the breakfast in the bush overlooking a hippo pool.

Day 13 - Nairobi / Departure
