Steve Krenzen: Explorer, Expedition Organizer, and Marketing Consultant
Steve is the Director of Safari Guides. He maintains a personal relationship with all Safari Guide Professional Guides and is in contact with them on a regular basis. Steve feels it is very important for any prospective client to know that the organization they are dealing with has first hand experience on the ground in Africa. Steve spends a good portion of his time Exploring new areas of prospective travel sites throughout the African Continent. Steve is also available as a Guide/Escort and his specialty is leading our Sahara Desert Expeditions.
Sam Jacobsz Explorer: Professional Photographer and Videographer
Sam is a Professional Photographer and Videographer. He has over twenty years of experience shooting film and still pictures of all the Big Game. Sam lives in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. Limpopo is home to South Africa's premier Game Parks; Sam has been to them all! He leads our specialist Film and Photography Safaris. With Sam accompanying you on your Safari, you will learn from a true Pro!
Born and raised on a farm in Rhodesia, (Now Zimbabwe), Sam joined the Rhodesian Prison Service and got married to his wife Isobel. They have been married for thirty-two years. In 1980 they immigrated to South Africa where they currently reside in the City of Polokwane.
Leon Varley: Professional Guide
Leon, a qualified Professional Guide for 22 years, was among the first guides to qualify in the post independence period. Leon has served as an Army Tracker, Miner, Prospector, Farmer, Journalist, Forestry Game Ranger, Tsetse Control Officer and Para Medic. He leads Game Tracking Safaris in Hwange and Chizarira.
Obert: Professional Tracker
Obert grew up in the bush not far from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. He has always had a keen interest in wildlife as Elephants regularly traveled through his village when he was kid. He and his friends would follow the Elephants on foot and track them as far as they could. By starting at this young age Obert developed his keen tracking skills. This lead him to a career as a Professional Game Tracker. He works with Safari Guides Professional Guide Leon Varley as Leon's Tracker.
Ali Malound: Desert Guide
Ali resides in Nema Mauritania with his wife and children. Ali’s father was a Camel Caravaner, as a youngster Ali would join his father on their long trips through the desert. Traveling with their Camels, they would journey from Timbuktu to Morocco. On the way up the cargo was salt and on the return trip they would bring carpets back to Timbuktu. So Ali really knows the desert from the ground up!
Mohamed Bilal: Driver and Vehicle Technician
He is a resident of Timbuktu. In addition to being a fantastic mechanic, Mohamed most likely has the best sense of humor in the Sahara. He has driven motor vehicles in seven different Sahara Countries, so he is very experienced with the ways of Sahara travel.
Souleymane Icha: Niger: Expedition Organizer and Guide

He resides in Agadez, Niger with his wife and children. Souleymane actually grew up in the desert and in his late teens decided to move to Agadez. The desert is his passion and upon moving to Agadez he decided to share his vast knowledge of the Sahara and his own Tuareg culture though tourism. 

Hashem: Expedition Guide,Egypt

Hashem lives in Cairo and while he certainly enjoys the pulse of the big city, his real passion is being in the quiet spaces of the desert, so he gave up his office job years ago and has become one of Egypt’s most experienced and respected desert guides. He also has a vast knowledge of Egypt’s ancient history.

Sakora: Mekoro Expedition Lead Guide

For many years Sakora he has traveled throughout the Delta fishing and at one time hunting Crocodiles. He is one of the original members of the Delta Polers association. The guys that are members are the most experienced Mekoro polers in the Delta

Midhat Mahir: Trip organiser, Sudan

Midhat is Nubian. The Nubian culture is part of the old ancient cultures that lived along the Nile River in Sudan and Egypt. In addition to setting-up travel throughout Sudan, Midhat is a bicycle racer. There are a couple of big bike races in Sudan during the year. Midhat is deeply involved with the organization of these races.

Moez Mahir: Lead Guide, Sudan

Moez is Midhat’s younger brother. He is our guide in Sudan and his specialty is the northern Nile River Historic region. Being Nubian himself his family roots are strong in this amazing historical area. Moez is also a talented graphic designer and an authority on Nubian art.

Paul Goldring
Paul is a Professional Guide and handles our operations in Uganda. Paul and his family have lived in Uganda for the past sixteen years. He has travels all over the country from Murchison Falls in the north to Lake Victoria in the south. Paul is also an avid fisherman. If you would like to try your hand at tiger fishing or go for one of the very large Nile Perch, Paul will guide you.
Joseph Galiwango
Started Guiding in 1999 on a part time basis with us. He has worked his way up within the organization to become head guide early in 2006 giving him additional responsibilities. Joseph successfully completed his Uganda Red Cross Basic first aid course in 2002 and a field guide training course in mid 2005 as well as now having many years of "on the ground" experience with all levels and styles of safaris including camping and Rwenzori Mountain Climbing.
Joseph was born in Entebbe and has lived there all his life. He has two children living with him and his wife. Joseph is friendly, helpful with a good sense of humor. He is very easy going and gets on well with people. His hobbies include Football, which he follows passionately since he used to play at quite a high level at high school age.
Ham Juuko:

Ham was born and raised in Western Uganda as a country boy who helped raise cattle on the family farm. He moved to the city after schooling where he successfully completed his Diploma in accounting and also Customer Care. He started guiding in 1999. Ham has put his passionate interest in wildlife and experience caring for clients together to become an excellent all round guide. His recent excellent achievements on a bird guiding course has also added to his skills.

George Sserunjoji Mukiibi:
George grew up on the outskirts of Kampala in a suburb known as Kisubi. The home of the Buganda Royal Family.
He studied at Kisubi primary school and Lubiri Senior Secondary School for 6 years. After school George held varied jobs in he clerical and stores field before becoming a part time guide in 2000.
George has had experience working for a few different safari companies within the industry and he joined Wild Frontiers in 2004. A keen sportsman and in particular soccer playing for Kampala City Council, Express Football Club and Uganda National Team the Cranes.
Martin Okot
Martin is from the Acholi tribe, which is from the far North of Uganda although he grew up locally. He is married with two children. He started his career interest in wildlife working for the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre as a Zoo Keeper for five years before moving to work with a tour company in Kampala for approximately five years. During that time Martin gained a wide range of experience and went on several specialist courses for guiding including birding, for which he has a keen interest. He has joined us in 2006 in the capacity of a senior guide.
Kiika Mustafah
Steffie, as he is generally known, has a good sense of humor, excellent ability to relate to people and can offer interesting information on almost any area or aspect of Uganda. He has traveled widely around the country and also worked in several up-country areas including Shahs in Queen Elizabeth National Park. He has a family with two children.His working experience includes being a logistics officer taking care of overseas volunteers from 1995-1997 for the British based organization Frontiers, working as a mechanic and driver for the Wildlife Education Centre and also camp coordinator for an elephant project (EPC) in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Steffie has been working for us since 1994 and is one of our more senior guides.
Ali Ould Sidi
Ali is our local guide in the Timbuktu area of Mali. He was born in Timbuktu and currently resides there with his family. He was educated in Mali where he has studied ancient history and local ancient cultures. He completed his graduate studies at Western Illinois University in the US. In Timbuktu he is currently the Director of Arts and Culture, a Historian Geographer and the manager of the two Unesco Historic Sites located in Timbuktu!
Cherif Lamine
Cherif is our local partner in Mali. Cherif was born and raised in Timbuktu where he and his family live today. He is thirty-nine years old and his been guiding throughout Mali since he was sixteen. Cherif has extensive knowledge of the varying cultures of his country. After his schooling in Timbuktu he went on to the University of Bamako where he received his teaching degree in English. He is very involved with cultural affairs in Timbuktu, he is also the VP of the Timbuktu-Tempe sister city program. Cherif also has experience in organizing trips to neighboring countries such as Burkina Faso, Niger, Senegal, Togo, Benin, and Ghana.
Peter Comley
Peter has guided professionally for 22 years. His interests and knowledge are extremely varied on a broad range of diverse subjects. Peter has a reputation for exploring remote and previously "unopened areas". Peter and wife, Salome, have written three guidebooks on Botswana/Namibia and is also a widely published author, photographer, poet.
Cobra
Cobra is from a small local tribe of bushman located in the Kalahari. His instincts are as close to animals as any human can be. Don't miss a walk with him.
Joe Charleson
Joe is on of APSG most popular Guides because of his relaxed nature and his vast knowledge of the bush. He operates from APSG's semi-permanent tented camp 15 kilometres outside the Masai Mara. Operating outside the park borders gives Joe and his clients the flexibility of tracking game of foot and night game drives.
Salome Meyer
Salome has guided professionally in Botswana for the past 20 years. In addition to being recognised as an excellent and dedicated guide, Salome has years of experience in handling bookings and custom-designing safaris throughout Africa for demanding guests. Together with Peter, she has produced three guidebooks on Botswana and Namibia and is a widely published photographer. Salome brings to Untamed Africa, the finest travel agency skills, as well as her eye for detail and uncompromising standards for quality on safari and in the office.
Bruce Taylor
Bruce has always excelled in organizing and leading varied itineraries in Southern Africa . He has travelled extensively via bicycle, canoe and 4X4 expeditions to Kaokoveld in Northern Namibia . His specialty is exploring very remote undiscovered areas in Mozambique .
Ian Coulson
Ian studied in Cape Town then returned to Namibia where he obtained the top 'National Guide' qualification for African Safari guides. His particular interests are in ornithology and off-road driving to get into the really special and remote areas of Namibia .
Penny Scott
Brought up in Cape Town , Penny developed an early interest in the natural environment of Africa , leading to her decision to study zoology to Masters Degree. She has done wildlife research projects on behalf of her University as well as working with a study project in Kaokoland (North West Namibia).
Marios Kingi Mollel
Marios resides in the village of Engiaresero, located in the Lake Natron area of Northern Tanzania . Marios leads Donkey Safaris from Lake Natron to Ngorongoro Crater and is one of the most experienced Masai Guides in Tanzania . He can also lead you for a serious climb up Oldonyo Lengai (Masai Spiritual Mountain)
Daryl Martin
Daryl's grandfather was a Warden of Matopos National Park. Daryl started his guiding career as a learner guide. Amongst his duties, Daryl learned about animal capture and the hand-raising of orphan animals such as Lions and Elephants. Daryl was also involved in the reintroduction of these animals to the wild.
